July 01, 2009 - The event which took place on June 26, 2009 at DLF Place, Saket, New Delhi showcased the creativity of the upcoming budding designers from over 70 centers of IIFT in the presence of the Fashion industry.
The creativity of these designers was flaunted by none other than renowned models like Barkha Kaul, Ritu, Sahiba, Rashmi and many more. Presence of top Indian models ignited the required spark for the show; High quality clothes combined with a heady cocktail of talent as well as glamour made the evening truly fashionable. The show choreographed by the leading choreographer of India, Anup Banerjea and conceptualized by Ms. Kajal Thakur. The entire show was based on the themes derived from the Fashion forecast trends of Spring-Summer 2010. The designers had picked up different ideas from the season and designed the collection keeping in mind the trends in the Indian as well as international market.
There were various inventive themes as per designed by the students which included Eco Retreat, Couture Romance, Monsoon- The taste of India, Trash Fashion etc. “IIFT has always believed in bringing to the forefront the Student’s latent talents thereby giving them a platform which would earn them instant recognition. These fashion previews, like Glamoria, has time and again given IIFT a new dimension as well the students a new opportunity.” says Mr. Ratnadeep Lal, Founder & Chairman- International Institute of Fashion Technology Group.
Show designers were none other than the graduating students of over 70 centers of IIFT. The event commenced with an annual award ceremony where all the IIFT students and staffs were commemorated for their contribution towards making IIFT, the premier institute. The felicitation was in the categories like; best designer- Pooja Marwah, best student- Rakesh Sharma & Rashmi, best faculty- Shikha Jayantia, best academic centre- Head Office- Kajal Thakur, dynamic direcor- Kajal Thakur, best upcoming Centre- IIFT Bijnor, best alumni award- Prataya Majumdar Shahi Exports.
