A new type of furniture style has emerged for those with distinct taste and a craving for something different. Madebygirl.com is an online company that is giving Chippendale style tables a whole new look.
Imagine an already beautiful coffee table made out of mahogany, imported from Indonesia with fine detail and craftsmanship. Now picture it all dressed up in a leather outfit with studs. To be more exact, the tops of the tables are dressed with either distressed or full grain leather hides. Recent designs include one with a bright red heart and zebra print wings surrounded with little bronze studs, and a guitar shaped from studs with sexy red leather flames made from full grain hide. Decorative tacks surround all these tables, almost like a signature look.
The designer Jennifer Ramos, a former model, is quite familiar with unique furniture. Growing up in New York City, she had always been surrounded by artists and creative people. Although she had no prior design experience, her passion and drive to create led her to creating these unique pieces. When it came to Las Vegas where she currently resides, she felt it lacked an edge in the furniture department and she wanted to create what she called “a beginning to a more modern home” by designing a line of coffee tables that were edgy, original and yet still functional.
The tables, priced at $1,300 and up, are targeted to a wide audience ranging from musicians to fashionable boutiques to anyone wanting uniquely designed furniture for their home. MadeByGirl tables have been appeared in Las Vegas Home & Design magazine and Las Vegas Business Press.
She is proud to show that she is quite the philanthropist by donating 2% from each table sale to charities such as Breast Cancer Research and Lied Animal Shelter in Las Vegas.
