April 08, 2009 - A Child’s Wish of Louisiana is hosting their 2nd annual “Bowl A Thon” event to raise money to grant wishes for Louisiana children with critical illnesses. The event is open to the public and will be held on Sunday, May 24 from 3-5 pm at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, LA.
Participants may enter either as a team or individually. For $250.00 you can reserve a lane and have a 5-player team enter the bowl-a-thon. The registration can be company sponsored or each bowler can raise a minimum of $50 in pledges due by May 15, 2009, but don't stop there!
Everyone can copy the pledge sheet as many times as they need to raise additional pledges for this great cause. Additional pledges must be turned in on or before the event. Once a team has registered, the team will be entitled to bowling 2 games, shoe rental, pizza, and a pitcher of drinks.
Teams are encouraged to wear team t-shirts. You pick the theme, but the shirt must include "A Child's Wish Bowl-A-Thon `09". Have fun and be creative with your team shirt. We will award a prize to the team with the most creative t-shirt.
Door prizes will be given out and awards will be given for the following categories:
* Most Pledges (1 St & 2nd Place)
* Total High Team Score (1st & 2nd Place)
* Total High Score (1st & 2nd Place Men and Women)
* Total Low Score (Man and Woman)
All proceeds from the event go to benefit Louisiana children with terminal illnesses. A Child’s Wish of Louisiana is a local non-profit organization which grants wishes to Louisiana children. The organization was founded in 1982 and has granted hundreds of wishes for Louisiana children through private funding and donations. Typical wishes granted for each child may vary on their medical condition or limitations but the most popular wish requests are trips to Disney or shopping sprees for items such as electronics or games.
