A Call To Art: Austin Artists + Musicians Partnership Spotlights Artists, Resources And Calls For New Patrons

Nonprofit AAMP is dedicated to providing work space, education and structure to local creators. AAMP would like to introduce its artists and resources while also seeking patrons to support the arts.

Austin-San Marcos, TX (1888PressRelease) September 29, 2009 - At Austin Artists + Musicians Partnership (AAMP) established local legends work next to aspiring talents. With their generous donation of work-space materials, Austin Brain and Spine Center is the newest supporter of these artists. AAMP is still seeking “500 Friends” to become patrons of local creators.

AAMP’s roster of artists includes well-known greats Guy Juke and Jim Franklin and up-and-coming creative, John Bush among others. Guy Juke and Jim Franklin are poster artists who helped establish Austin’s Armadillo Music Headquarters. Guy Juke has created posters for Frank Zappa, Talking Heads and the Austin Chronicle Music Awards.

Jim Franklin was nicknamed “the Michaelangelo of armadillo art” after creating Armadillo Comics. Years ago, he opened psychedelic music hall, Vulcan Gas Company, where he created poster art for many bands.

John Bush, founder of creative business development firm, Adbongo, Inc, is currently working on his “Abe” series of mixed media paintings inspired by Abraham Lincoln’s quote, “A man with no vices has no virtues,” at AAMP’s warehouse space. His first Abe paintings were showcased at Canvas Art Bar last year. A Dallas real estate investor commissioned the latest “Abe.” Mr. Bush will be promoting AAMP’s message of healing through art and music during his upcoming three month sabbatical in the Guatemalan highlands, where he is also going to help build an ecovillage.

The AAMP collective is a nonprofit organization that houses collaborators DJ Dojo, Xlantic Media and Adbongo, Inc in a warehouse space in the South First neighborhood. Nonprofit AAMP’s mission is to provide space for locals to heal, create and work. It is a community supported venture that is looking for “500 Friends” who want to become patrons of the arts by contributing $500. As a thank you, the Friends receive “AAMP dollars” to be used for services provided by partners.
