January 23, 2008 - February 1st 2008 sees the publication Christopher Nosnibor’s latest offering, a pamphlet containing the short story ‘A Call for Submission.’
Synopsis: A girl; a party; her friends; her boyfriend – ex boyfriend – and her potential boyfriend. What could make for a more fun and exciting evening? Diane is a troubled girl, for whom nothing is ever straightforward. Her history of eating disorders coupled with her fixation on body image, both her own and those of others, are all factors that complicate her struggle with herself and society. Taking a moment’s quiet respite from the social whirl should mean nothing at all, but for Diane, in the bat of a eyelid things start to turn ugly...
A dark and shocking story that picks at the scars of contemporary life, ‘A Call for Submission’ is anything but a comfortable bedtime story.
The detail: To mark the Leap Year, ‘A Call for Submission’ will be available throughout February only, being available from February 1st to midnight on the 29th. The publication will then be deleted. As ‘A Call for Submission’ will be produced on a print-on-demand basis, the number of copies sold during the 29 days of February will be the final number in circulation.
The author describes ‘A Call for Submission’ as ‘a fine slice of literary filth,’ but stresses that its primary purpose is to ‘reflect the harsh realities of the age of airbrushed images and the fact that the beautiful people usually aren’t so beautiful really.’
Print Details: 5.83" x 8.26", saddle-stitch binding, white interior paper (60# weight), black and white interior ink, white exterior paper (100# weight), full-colour exterior ink.
