April 21, 2007 - April 25th is the 74th anniversary of the glorious Korean Peoples Army the vanguard of the Songun revolution of Korea.
The KPA was founded originally as the Anti Japanese Peoples Guerilla Army by President Kim Il Sung, a gifted military strategist and ever victorious iron willed brilliant commander. By using protean tactics and true military genius President Kim Il Sung defeated the million strong army of Japanese imperialism.
The KPA, under the wise leadership of great marshal President Kim Il Sung, took over and carried forward the traditions of the anti Japanese armed struggle. The KPA inflicted a crushing defeat on the US imperialists in the great Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953.The KPA also defeated the US in the 'Pueblo incident','EC121 incident' and 'Panmunjom incident of 1976'. Under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung the KPA grew into steel strong ranks each soldier being a match for a hundred enemy soldiers.
Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il has successfully carried forward and developed the President's cause of building the army. He set it forth as the primary task of the revolution to train the People's Army as an invincible revolutionary army and has wisely led the struggle to carry it out.
He advanced the theory of modeling the whole army on the Juche idea, a theory of building army centering on the leader, providing an immortal programme for building the revolutionary armed forces in our era as it comprehensively indicates the general goal, duty, fundamental principle and ways of building the revolutionary army in the service of the cause of socialism.
He has pursued the unique Songun politics in the 1990s, bringing about a new drastic turn in increasing the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK.
The Korean People's Army has grown to be a matchless fortress and shield defending the sovereignty of the country and socialism, the reporter said, adding that it has turned into matchless combat ranks possessed of strategy and tactics peculiar to the country and equipped with offensive and defensive means powerful enough to wipe out any formidable enemy at a single stroke backed by the independent and modern national defence industry.
Today the KPA under the wise leadership of its supreme commander comrade Kim Jong Il stands on the frontline against US imperialism and all reactionary forces and is firmly defending Korean style socialism centred upon the popular masses.
