July 19, 2009 - (Atlanta, GA) –– Next month, 4Kings Entertainment will film its pilot episode of two breakthrough events, “The Mighty Mighty Beat Down” and the “Behind the Boards Series” at Lenny’s Bar in Decatur, Georgia. In a time when the fate of the Hip-Hop culture is in constant dispute, an event of this dimension is way past due. With a hot production crew and shrewd executive-producers at the helm, it’s apparent why these highly-anticipated programs have already garnered major network television favor. Everything jumps off Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 10PM—the precise moment when a rich culture, gifted producers and technology have a meeting of the minds.
The brainchild of 4Kings Entertainment, the “Behind the Boards Series” is the place where Hip-Hop meets BRAVO’s Inside the Actor’s Studio and MTV’s Unplugged. Hosting some of the most sought after producers in Hip-Hop, in a studio talk show-style setting, the “Behind The Boards Series” gives Hip-Hop enthusiasts, critics and up and coming producers, first-hand accounts on making Hip-Hop classics, the business of Hip-Hop and little-known facts about the Hip-Hop culture and the artists it births.
The pilot episode will spotlight Atlanta’s own BATTERY 5 and will be hosted by music connoisseur, Dres tha Beatnik, with DJs Edward Scizzahandz & Megatoronics. Held bi-monthly at the unpretentious Atlanta venue, Lenny’s Bar, located at 486 Decatur St NE, Atlanta, GA 30312, the “Behind the Boards Series” is an extension of “The Mighty Mighty Beat Down”, Atlanta’s first producer battle event. Since its inception, the show has given insight into the careers of music producers such as legendary Hip-Hop producer Diamond D, Grammy Award-Winning producer 9th Wonder & Grammy-Nominated producer Mannie Fresh. And for a meager $10, music lovers and fans can get a backstage pass into the music-making “experience” and actually converse with some of the world’s most prolific composers and producers.
