May 20, 2008 - Jereme Allen and Lief Larson have set out to reinvent the business card millions of us carry in our pocket every day by creating a web-enabled version that can be broadcast throughout the internet. Their virtual business card technology, called BusinessCard2, is engineered to be passed, transmitted, and discovered entirely in cyberspace.
Last year their company, Workface Inc., began testing a tool designed to help people create a virtual business card. Within several months more than 5,000 people had signed on. The system has now grown to include more than a quarter million virtual business cards.
"The business card is the world's tiniest billboard," said Larson. "What we're doing is making it incredibly easy for people to take there business card out of pocket, and broadcast it across the internet."
The website is located at http://businesscard2.com and is allowing people to both create a digital version of their business card and take control of their identity and professional contact information. The platform is supported by a lead generation engine that helps professionals to find new opportunity and business leads by leveraging the popularity of procurement and due diligence occurring online.
