(1888PressRelease) January 01, 2008 - (Irvine, Calif.) — Serious Pimp Apparel had an epic night at the 2007 IFL World Grand Prix Championships live on HDnet, December 29, 2007 with three athletes winning at inaugural event with 3-5 million viewers watching.

Serious Pimp Team Lightweight Ryan Schultz knocked out previously undefeated Chris Horodecki Saturday night in front of 5,731 astounded fans at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Schultz took early control in the first round and continued to pound before the referee stepped in late in the round to stop the bout. Schultz had been named a late replacement in the title bout after injuries to Horodecki’s previous two opponents.

Meanwhile, Serious Pimp’s Matt Horwich stunned middleweight Benji Radach in the second round of their middleweight bout, knocking out previously unbeaten Radach after absorbing several blows in the opening round, Radich was knocked out at 1:58 of the second.

In the welterweight division, Serious Pimp’s Jay Hieron used his wrestling skills to stay on his feet for a change, picking apart jiu-jitsu phenom Delson Heleno with his striking game. Hieron stuffed Heleno’s early takedown attempts and seemed to injure the Brazilian with a right hand that clipped him late in the first round. After dropping Heleno with an uppercut, Hieron finished the round with a flurry of punches and left Heleno unable to continue on to the second round.

“We couldn’t be happier that out of five televised bouts, three of our guys won,” said Serious Pimp CEO, Damian Kutzner. “We’re extremely proud and happy for our guys and will keep supporting the growth of this sport and its athletes.”

“We would also like to congratulate Mark Cuban for his HDnet IFL HD broadcast. Not only did it surpass the highly publicized UFC 79 PPV broadcast by over 4 million viewers, it also brought the MMA sport to the masses, affordably, said Kutzner.”
