  • (1888PressRelease) April 24, 2014 - Top Link Conference and Event Management presents 'Best Practices of Centrifugal Pumps' which focuses on the hydraulic principles of centrifugal pumps as well as the mechanical considerations in centrifugal pump designs.

This two-day course is designed for maintenance and operator personnel who are responsible for repair and troubleshooting of Centrifugal Pumps and Mechanical Seals, as well as engineers that want to have hands on experience for installation and repair. There will be a one hour overview on the basic components of a centrifugal pump and its function.

This training describes the advantages, disadvantages, characteristics, and applications of the centrifugal pump. It defines, derives, and describes the performance parameters, performance curves, and all the characteristics that an engineer needs to know to intelligently specify a centrifugal pump for a specific application. The student not presently knowledgeable about pumps can skim through the derivations and still gain valuable knowledge about this work horse of the power and process industries.

The more interested student will be able to follow through the various derivations of the performance parameters, pump affinity laws, and so forth, that is widely used by mechanical engineers, but not always covered in this much detail in textbooks. Full multi-media presentation with a high level Presenter coupled with interactive sessions in class with quiz / multiple choice questions for revision and self evaluation. General safety and best practice are emphasized. Workshop manual which includes copies of the slides, quiz questions and answer sections as well as additional reference data and technical information (courtesy of Goulds pumps) are included.

These programs have been prepared for people who have some exposure to centrifugal pumps and are seeking a greater understanding of the design variables, selection process, operation & maintenance of these machines so that they can apply the knowledge in their work environment. The programs will most benefit those who are involved in some aspect of pumping system design, pump application or operation of centrifugal pumps. Engineering/Technical educational background coupled with some experience in pump related fields will allow you to derive full benefit from these programs.
