April 15, 2008 - Announcing Dr. Len Goodman, Portfolio Manager, DRDC Centre for Security Science To Present at the Upcoming 2008 Government Technologies Conference and Expo.
March 04, 2008- Toronto, Canada - Dr. Len Goodman, Portfolio Manager, Surveillance, Intelligence & Interdiction Public Security Technical Program, DRDC Centre for Security Science, is the latest addition to the great lineup of speakers for the 2008 Government Technologies Conference and Expo. The fifth annual conference will be hosted at the Design Exchange, in heart of Downtown Toronto (Canada) on April 15 -16, 2008.
The presentation will not only outline DRDC’s leadership role in coordinating public safety and security (S&T) but will include the organization's coordinating activities in biometrics S&T across the Government of Canada, Allies, Academia, and Industry.
Len Goodman holds a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology. He a Defence Scientist with Defence R&D Canada, an Agency supporting S&T within the Department of National Defence, and has been with the organization for 18 years. He started his career as a bench scientist, engaging in life support protection research for the Air Forces’ fighter fleet (acceleration and high altitude protection), worked in DRDC’s Corporate office in the S&T Policy directorate examining future military S&T trends, and most recently was embedded in the Canadian Forces Chief of Force Development Directorate, working for the team that surveys the future technological trends anticipated for the Canadian Forces.
Dr. Goodman is currently overseeing the Surveillance Intelligence and Interdiction mission area for the Public Security Technical Program, housed within the DRDC Centre for Security Science in Ottawa.
