July 15, 2007 - A Look N2 the Future
We’re almost nine years into the new millennium and the world has made tremendous strides, in all sectors of every day life, for the better and for the worst. We all know that the worst gets the most notoriety, but when it comes to the music we currently listen to today, and how people are now being fed it with lyrics and overall content, degrading name calling and vulgarity…We now are ready for a refreshing change, a seemingly new change to rally around and be excited about! That fresh and new change is “Spoken Rhythm!!”
What is Spoken Rhythm? Spoken Rhythm is the eloquent unification of spoken words and rhythm and blues music. It embodies and embraces the full art form of poetry while, creatively intermingling with various genres of music (i.e. gospel, jazz, r&b) in such fashion that, one can generically name a spoken rhythm composition, a song. What you have is a strategic mixture of Spoken word in specific areas of the musical composition along with the chorus and adlib singing purposefully placed in specific areas of the same musical composition, which sounds very melodic, when played in one accord.
The content of Spoken Rhythm is uplifting and inspiring, as well as thought provoking and loving. It can make you want to find your significant other for a romantic evening, as well as take you back to vivid thoughts of our ancestral days. Profanity used is so infinitesimal that, you could listen to an entire album of Spoken Rhythm and be able to count on one hand how many mildly profane words you heard, if any.
Spoken Rhythm, due to it uniqueness, is brought forth to the public through an annual event entitled “A Night of Spoken Rhythm”. Spoken Rhythm as the forth-coming new genre of music exudes elegance, romance and sophistication when listening to it in your car, that it has to have the same feel when brought forth to the general public. Which is why “A Night of Spoken Rhythm” is always held in an elegant banquet hall, where those who patronize this event put on their after seven attire solely to bask in the essence of an elaborate and well thought out production. Complete with live band and background singers, colorful lighting, videography and photography, and hosted by a local radio personality. And all of this has been created, funded, and brought into fruition from the very innovative mind of one, Mr. Frank Pete, a Chicago native.
Tables have been reserved for press and you are very cordially invited. There is no hype needed for this event. The bar has been raised, a new standard has been set and the new genre of music that will take us on a journey for the next thirty years has finally been created. On the evening of August 11, 2007, at The Grand Ballroom located 6351 S. Cottage Grove, good food, drinks and awesome entertainment will await your presence. Please come to see what Chicago’s very own visionary is doing with the art of poetry and Spoken Rhythm! You will be taking an exciting look into… the future!!
