11th Annual “ Fun In The Sun” Charity Car Show Scheduled For April 26

Wake Teen Medical Services to Benefit from Annual Event

Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2008 - One of the Triangle’s largest display of classic and antique cars is returning this month. Corvettes International, Raleigh’s premier club of Corvette owners and enthusiasts, has announced that its 11th Annual “Fun in the Sun” Charity Car Show is scheduled for April 26 at Lake Wheeler Park in Raleigh. The event will benefit Wake Teen Medical Services.

The event will be a showcase of vehicles of all makes and models, including muscle cars, sports cars, pony cars, classic and antique autos, as well as street rods and trucks. Admission to family-friendly event is free to the general public. Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

“We appreciate the support of Corvettes International and their hard work on putting together this event each year,” said Joyce Wood, executive director of Wake Teen Medical Services. “This car show gives us an opportunity to increase the public’s awareness of Wake Teen and the services it provides, as well as a way to raise much needed resources for our programs.”

Registration for car owners interested in displaying their vehicles is $20.00. Registered cars and trucks will be eligible for trophies and dash plaques. Registration will be held on site from 8:00 a.m. to noon the day of the show. Lake Wheeler Park is located at 6404 Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh.

“The Fun in the Sun charity car show is one of the club’s highlights every year, to give back to the community” said Tom Rhyne, show chairman of this year’s event. “The important thing for the public to know is that it’s more than Corvettes. Each year, we have one of the best displays of many makes and models, so there will be something there for every car enthusiast.”
