"The Custard Room" Lorraine E. John

    About the Book:
Nat thought that he was an average 15 year old, with an average family; including a very annoying older sister; living an average life.

Nothing out of the ordinary ever happened.

That is until the day he met the mysterious Beeble, a seemingly tall, gawky teenager with a wacky sense of humour. But all was not as it first appeared.

Meeting Beeble was to set off a series of events for Nat and his family, which would result in life never being the same again for any of them.

Nat would learn some truths about his family, and would discover a whole new family with whom he was connected, far away from his Gloucestershire home.

With the experience of time travel, Nat would not only learn of his family's past but by visiting the Custard Room; he and his whole family would see what lessons their past and futures held.

This modern fairy tale combines fantasy elements with tales of hidden adoption, kidnap and finding love through the generations.

Once you start to read you won't want to put it down!

    Excerpt from the book:

    "I did it," said Beeble.
    "Did what?" asked Nat.
"A handstand. Look watch!" added Beeble as he proceeded to do a series of six handstands before staggering to his feet laughing.
"Are you always this annoying?" grumbled Nat.
"Definitely. Always!" exclaimed Beeble, jumping in a puddle.
It had been a strange day thought Nat; one of ups and downs. The sun was setting throwing a rosy glow across the garden; even he had to admit warm early summer days were really pleasant.
"Well, I suppose I had best get off home now," said Beeble absentmindedly. "Mind you, the Pluses never go to bed this early."
"The Pluses, who are the Pluses?" queried Nat.
"Ah!" exclaimed Beeble. "That, dearest Natty, is an adventure for another day."
"Don't call me Natty!" grumbled Nat, poking an ant's nest with a stick.
"As you wish, although I must say it suits you very well. Toodle Pip," said Beeble, and he was gone.
Weird, thought Nat. Where did he go? Oh well, best go inside now the sun has set."
