April 29, 2009 - U.S. military combat and information system company "Harris Corporation" had agreed with Atel Telekomunikasyon, a Turkish communication and defense system producer company, to manufacture some products to be sold in Turkey and Middle East, Atel Telekomunikasyon's manager said.
"We decided to make joint production with Harris Corporation in Turkey," Guntekin Guntay, the marketing manager of the Atel Telekomunikasyon, told AA correspondent.
Guntay said that the production facilities would be established with 2 million USD of investment at first, and the factory would produce 50 percent of Falcom Watch sensor systems in Turkey.
"Thus, we aim to meet military communication needs of particularly the Turkish Armed Forces, all Middle Eastern countries from Turkey," he said.
Established in the Turkish capital of Ankara in 1997, Atel Telekomunikasyon has 36 branches throughout Turkey.
Based in Florida, the United States, Harris Corporation is an international communications and information technology company serving government and commercial markets in more than 150 countries.
The company has annual revenue of 5.4 billion USD and 16,000 employees ? including nearly 7,000 engineers and scientists.
