"Gundersen Castrated Me!" published on the Gundersen website at the HERS Foundation’s blog

Blog exposes errors and omissions of fact about hysterectomy and female castration from the Patient Education Institute and Gundersen Lutheran.

(1888PressRelease) January 25, 2008 - Grace Wellendorf, a hairstylist from La Crosse, WI, says that a Gundersen Lutheran gynecologist hysterectomized and castrated her without informed consent.

“Sure,” Wellendorf says, “I signed a piece of paper, but if Gundersen had given me the information available on the HERS blog I never would’ve let them do this to me.”

“Part I” of a series of Posts on the HERS Foundation’s blog investigated the “Patient Education Materials” on the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s (UPMC) website, and more than 170 women have commented. “Part II” was launched yesterday and highlights the Patient Education Institute, Inc. product known as X-Plain, which is published on the Gundersen website.
