Mr. Fedele begins his memoirs starting from his early 30’s because that is the point where he considers his life found true meaning.
The more significant reason for beginning at that particular junction, though, is to keep in line with the focus of the book, which describes the up-hill battles his family had to face due to the afflictions of their son, Shaun. By delving into how they overcame the hardships thrown their way, Mr. Fedele hopes to offer encouragement to others in coping with their own adversities and to provide guidance in resolving the challenges confronting them.
There are innumerable lessons to be garnered from the experiences encountered, especially from the unorthodox techniques that were employed to accommodate Shaun’s special needs.
Mixed in with all this are humorous situations to add levity and fascinating snippets to keep the reader wildly entertained.
In spite of Shaun's limitations, Mr. Fedele considers his son to be a true gift from God. Hence, the title of the book, "God's Gift." In fact, the meaning of the name, Shaun, translates to "God's gracious gift."
People, who’ve read sample chapters, found them fascinating and wished they could have had more. Because of it, Mr. Fedele feels that these memoirs will have a wide appeal and should be an inspiration to all.
