March 05, 2008 - DJ Bryan Burger made his first appearance at Blue Note on 1 March 2008. DJ Bryan has played alongside BT, Dave Seaman, Steve Lawler, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Circulation, Deep Dish, Lee Burridge, Sven Vath and many more club legends. With sets best described as deep grooves built around a funky electro baseline with a tribal touch, DJ Bryan has the ability to move the dance floor to an orgasmic crescendo.
DJ Shazz will take command of the turntable on 8 March 2008. Growing up in New York City and harking back to the styles of Levan and Humphries, DJ Shazz stays true to house music and stirring rhythmic intensity that elicit a soulful spiritual and inspirational vibe. DJ Shazz’s solo guest appearances include Lovezoo at The Lost Weekend, Progress (Derby), the Que Club (Birmingham) and the Sub Club (Glasgow).
DJ Leonard T, who has 18 years of experience spinning the wheels of steel, playing an astounding myriad of musical genres ranging from the credible to the commercial, will show his talents on 15 March 2008. With a vast knowledge of dance music, DJ Leonard has played alongside some of the finest international DJs from around the world. Fresh from the Berlin Love Parade, DJ Leonard continues to ensure a good time for all listeners wherever he plays.
Guests can continue to enjoy dynamic music from another international DJ, Nikki, on 22 March 2008. Her passion for dance music has led her to invest her life into a career as a DJ and to prove that a female DJ can also get recognition away from the dance floor. Recently she was named the champion in the “Heineken Music presents Juice DJ Quest 2007” and became the first female winner of the competition since it started few years ago.
DJ Anatta will conclude the “Generation Y” season at Blue Note on 29 March 2008. In 2004, Anatta became a trendsetter overnight, as she was the first female DJ to officially breakthrough locally by qualifying against a group of nine male opponents in a DJ competition. June 2005 witnessed Anatta as the first female DJ to grace the decks live, at the most popular local radio channel and radio show – Red 104.9 FM’s Wicked Session.
As one of Kota Kinabalu’s top purveyors of soulful grooves, Blue Note will continue to bring well-known international DJs to the local scene. The next group of talented DJs will be performing for guests in April.
