September 26, 2007 - Cancun Q. Roo - Megamodel Fashion Week, covered by Fashion TV, comes to Cancun September 5th through 10th. The main objective is to give Cancun the reputation of being a luxury, glamour and fashion destination and to capture this high purchasing power market, extend horizons, and to continue bringing events of this level year after year to Cancun.
Megamodel, founded in 2001, is considered to be one of the top 10 modeling agencies in Mexico with well-known models from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. One of the agency’s models is Daniela Stucan, the current Miss Argentina. Megamodel participates in a variety of mass media productions, including a variety of mass media, such as Cosmopolitan, Body Channel, Televisa and Aztec TV, as well as Fashion TV. Since 1997, Megamodel has had presence within fourteen countries.
The weeks’ fashion shows will include the latest fashions by Sara Bustani, a well-known fashion designer in Mexico, who will present her Fall/Winter Collection; Daniel Thorny, Mexican jewelry designer; Maria Rosario Mendoza of Guadalajara: the famous Cancun native, David Solomon; and Javier Saiach, one of the best fashion designers in Paraguay. Paulina Henaine will launch her first collection of paintings on silk called "Silk by the Sea". Prestigous retailers such as VIVAI featuring María Vázquez, Mua, Tucci and Ona Sáenz, Envy featuring D&G, Just Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Versace Jeans, Ferré, Iceberg and Adolfo Domínguez, Sunglass featuring Christian Dior, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Cartier and Bvlgary, Vilebrequin, and finally Zingara with its latest beach wear collection will be participating in the event.
Exclusive parties will be held in the Thai Lounge, ME by Meliá Cancun, Beach Cabana, The City, and Bling; while recreational activities will take place at the interactive aquarium, and photographic productions in the different sites at ME by Meliá Cancun, as well as inside plaza Forum.
Those expecting to attend the event include the well-known DJ from NY, Alex Lauterstein, businessmen, celebrities, hotel owners, and other VIPs from Cancún, Mérida, Villahermosa, Monterrey, D.F., Puebla, Guadalajara, Guatemala, Argentina, Miami, and Nueva York.
Among the sponsors is the famous hotel Me by Meliá Cancun, which since opening has participated in the best fashion events; the soccer team "Atlante," that has just transferred its headquarters to Cancun, will present their jersey promoting the event; "Costa Realty;" and "Australian Gold” suntan lotions.
