March 27, 2008 - South Shore Elder Services is holding their annual Aging is Everyone’s Future Conference on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Lombardo’s in Randolph. This year’s conference, entitled “Getting Help Along the Way”, provides important healthcare information as well as information on a variety of programs and services for adult children and seniors. Attendees will learn more about long term care insurance, financial planning, housing options, reverse mortgages, home modification and a variety of health related services.
The evening will offer an informative panel presentation, more than 30 informational booths, time for networking and dinner. The entire event is FREE and space is limited, so early registration is recommended. More than 200 attended last year’s conference.
“The conference should appeal to a diverse audience, from those who may be caring for their aging parents to elders who are concerned about where to turn; what services are available to them and how to obtain care,” explained Ed Flynn, Executive Director of South Shore Elder Services.
Mrs. C. who is in her 40s and had attended last year’s event with her 80 year-old mother noted, “It’s an evening well spent. I came away feeling more at ease because I had a better knowledge of the types of care available for my mother and myself. I know now that should I have further questions or concerns, South Shore Elder Services can certainly point me in the right direction.”
Sponsors for the event include Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital, Eastern Benefits Group, Mount Vernon Mortgage Corporation, Norwell Visiting Nurses Association, River Bay Club, Senior Resource Center, South Shore Hospital, South Shore Senior News and Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group.
