October 15, 2009 - On Thursday October 22nd, "9909" producer Bryan Brewer and "9909" lead actress Kelly Pendygraft, will pick up awards for Best Science Fiction Feature and Best Actress in a Feature. The award ceremony will take place at BLVD at 199 Bowery Street.
The New York International Independent Film & Video Festival Proudly announces the awards from a highly successful July Los Angeles event, which ran from July 30th through August 6th at the Regency Fairfax cinema.
The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) is one of the largest independent film festivals in the world.
Following on from the film's successful Hollywood screening in September, "9909" will take New York's independent film fans by storm with a one-off midnight screening at independent and art film powerhouse, Cinema Village on Friday October 23rd.
Cinema Village has showcased independent and art cinema for more than 40 years and is one of the oldest continuously operated art cinemas in the city.

“How Much Do You Know About September 9, 2009?”
A mystery surrounds a small town that was wiped out on September 9, 2009. Set sixty years in the future, an old woman (Kelly Pendygraft), engages the help of a reporter (Mary Kate Schellhardt), to unlock the secret of a government conspiracy to cover up the events that took place on September 9th, 2009. An aged Sarah Prescott tells the story of that eventful day when a meteor crash landed near a small American town and unleashed alien life-forms that gradually infect all the town’s residents. The plot interweaves the discovery of the meteor with the reappearance of one of the town’s residents, Deke Evans, (Bryan Brewer), who has been incarcerated 10 years for a questionable murder. With the help of the local Sheriff, (Lochlyn Munro), the remaining survivors try to make sense of it all and discover the source of the infection.
